‘Mission Possible’: ICC Kicks Off Building Safety Month 2024

The International Code Council (ICC) has launched Building Safety Month this May, marking the group’s 44th annual campaign to raise awareness about the importance of building codes and the role that building safety professionals play in keeping communities safe.

This year’s main theme, “Mission Possible,” encourages people to get involved in all aspects of building safety. Building Safety Month 2024 will also include five weekly themes:

Week 1: Understanding the Mission.

Week 2: Preparing a Building Safety Plan.

Week 3: Learning from the Pros.

Week 4: Engaging Your Community.

Week 5: Celebrating Success in Building Safety.

“From installing smoke alarms and securing handrails to creating an emergency safety plan, there are easy things people can do every day” to ensure building safety, according to Stuart Tom, president of the ICC board of directors.
